ACE - A Common Environment for ME10

Welcome to ACE Version 2.0 ********

  ACE is an unsupported environment for use with ME10 8.x under HP-UX 10.2
and Windows 95/NT 4.0.  It has not been tested with other operating systems 
or previous versions of these products.

  There is NO SUPPORT for the ACE Environment, however, if you find any bugs
or would like to see enhancements, please forward these to:

Note for users of the new 10.x WUI:

If starting ACE without implementing step 1 below, you must actually
make the directory where the ace files are located your current_directory.

To use:

1>  Add the directory these files were deposited in to the search path (see note above)

2>  Set the environment variable MEFONT=hp8.10x20b and export it  (The
    macros will work with other fonts, but has been optimized for the 10x20
    character size)

3>  Add the command "INPUT 'ace.inp'" to your ME10 customize file

4>  Run ME10


Files that can be customized for personal/company preferences include:

  ace8menu.mac - This file defines the contents of the 8 boxes beneath each
                 screen menu

  acefile.ini  - This file defines some of the settings used by the file
                 browser

  acetoolb.ini - This defines the ACE toolbox color palette and linewidths

  acefkey.ini  - This file defines the contents of the function key menus

  acelib.ini  - This file defines the contents of the library menus


Currently there is no additional support information available.  I will try
to fill this in as time permits as well as add enhancements, bug fixes and
support for additional products and platforms.
