Model Manager & Project Data Manager

We are looking into Model Manager and Project Data Manager. Any comments on how well this software has worked for people using it would be helpful.

Has it been relatively easy to implement and use (claimed to be "out of the box ready")?

Has it saved time and aggravation?

Any difficulties or issues?

Any Return on Investment studies?

Thanks.

I'd also be interested in seeing such a document, if one exists. I'm being asked to write a justification for migrating to OSD 11.X, but it's proved most difficult to do simply because I have no numbers to work with (i.e. "going to OSD 11.X will result in 20% decrease in design time). At this point, I'm just taking educated guesses.

We are in the beginning thows of a Model Manager implementation. We have the ModelManager server (HPUX) installed and are working on PjDM web server now. We are coming across issues as we go. Currently the issues are security related, but that is a different thread. We justified the expense by looking at reuse (search) difficulties and time managing/fixing projects stored as 3D data/Package/Bundle data on a shared file server. This has been an internal Engineering process effort rather than an I.T. driven event.
