Radius-diameter selection

Hello everybody,
my request is very simple to do and very useful.
It consist in a setting which let choose if use radius or diameter with the commands:
-modify radius
-automatic measurement on circular edges or faces.
-Co-pilot circles command
In many other programs the modify and creation interface works on diameter and I think is the better way to work because in the real pieces you measure diameter, not radius but the best solution is to have both.

Re: Radius-diameter selection

On german forum there was posted a setting for the tooltips.

There's also a setting for the calculator. But for other commands.. AFAIK there is not.

And CHANGE_RADIUS command should change the radius.. and never take it's input as diameter IMHO.

Re: Radius-diameter selection

So I agree, there are times I want to change by diameter and not have to think via radius (for example the diameter of hole for a bearing). to this end I have written my own dialog that does the change diameter, unfortunately I can't make it as nice as the change radius command due to the lack of some of the feedback tools.

Re: Radius-diameter selection

Many functions in Modeling allow you to enter simple equations.
For instance, let's say you want to change the diameter of an existing cylinder to 11.91 mm.

Select Change Radius, and enter 11.91/2
Then hit "Enter", and the math will be performed for you.

In earlier versions, you needed to enter an equation by using lisp notation, but not anymore.
