The normal select feature, I assume it is not: But it also depends on the command you might be using, in which state of the command, on your setup, on your way to work. Or may be you are missing the probe selector? Last but not least: did you check that your customization is working completly?
You see, a lot of (wild) assumptions I made. Describe your problem more exactly.

Re: lost commands from 19 to 20 direct modeling
Thank you Wolfgang for your answer.
I have create some commands in minibar were i could choose or the part,or the assembly or the faces,as showed here: Choosing a part i would like with a command (icon) to choose is "father" (or parent as you right says) were this part is contained and clicking again the icon were is father is contained. The same as the command "probe selection" that show me were select a part you can see were it's contained in the tree model. For my way to work i need to alternatively to click the icon for select a part and clicking that ("missing") icon to select the assembly were the part is contained and clicking again to select the assembly were the assembly is contained. In the previous version there was something like this I have not understand "adapt your start shortcut and append the parameter "-v" to the command" Thank you again for your help |

Re: lost commands from 19 to 20 direct modeling
Now you mixed me up a little bit.
1st: you have started your question in the "Make Test Posts Here" Forum . But it is a clear Modeling question therefore is should have gone here: Threads in Forum : CoCreate Modeling Keep in mind for the future. For now it is easier to stay here. ========================================= Quote:
Question do you have them in you 20.5 version or only in your 19.0 ? Assumption: you still do have them in your 19.0 Version. But you did not take over (all) your customization into 20.5. The commands are stored in a file named "sd_avail_cmds.cmd" in you 19.0 customization directory e.g. C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Creo Elements Direct Modeling 19.0\19.0\ Also you might have added those command to your ribbon bar at the top. Then a file sd_ribbon.lsp does exist in the 19.0 dir as well. Try to take over both files in your C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Creo Elements Direct Modeling 20.5\20.5\ (make a backup of that dir before to be able to go back) This would be the step to take over some older customization when updating. If I understand within 19.0 you have been happy with the setup. May be take another screen shot, or 2. ------------------------------- with the second part I am not sure: did it work in 19.0 as you liked it to, or is it a change / additional functionality you now would like to have.

Re: lost commands from 19 to 20 direct modeling
More and more I feel sure you have created those commands by your self. E.g. I did not find a command with the action ":assembly" in the installed versions on my side.
In the screen shot you provided there is also the path name of the bitmap files visible. But only the later part of it . What's the full name of one of those bmp files ? if it starts with "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Creo Elements Direct Modeling 19.0\19.0\... " it is a command you made your self. if it start with "C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo Elements\Direct Modeling 19.0\personality\bitmaps..." it would be an out of the box command.

Re: lost commands from 19 to 20 direct modeling
Thank you Wolfgang.Ok.I will keep in mind send next post in CoCreate Modeling forum.
I created these commands wich were the same in 19 version i had . The commands have only a different icon (I created myself). The point is that i cannot take that famous command "select by father" because the company i worked for had changed the version of Modeling and in the current version there is not this command. I saw the ""sd_avail_cmds.cmd" were are located all the commands, included the probe selector.I tried some selector commands but i cannot find that one. It should be some code that after selection of a part clicking the icon can select up and up until the first level of the assembly the 3d objects |

Re: lost commands from 19 to 20 direct modeling
Hi,
if I look at it this way, I have these commands too. It saves one click compared to the yellow selection arrow. The notation is by me Instead of :part by me 'SELECT':PART but this only makes sense if you want to select e.g. a cylinder. Thus selection of the part by click on a surface. Instead of :assembly by me 'SELECT':ASSEMBLY That makes sense. Very convenient. But selecting a 3D surface is what Modeling does anyway. Can you explain why this is so good? I hope I understood you correctly. ;-) Have a nice Easteregg hunt. Buenos Aires Last edited by Friedly; 04-08-2023 at 09:45 PM. |
