Modeling - Debugging Tools
I would like to have an equivalent to prompt_list and trace from ME10 and WorkManager available in SolidDesigner

The debugging tools in OSD are much more sophisticated than that provided by ME10. With OSD, you can selectively trace any function you desire. The function to trace function is lisp is called (trace function-name), where function-name is any valid lisp function. See a common lisp book for more details.
What do you want to achieve by using prompt-list? By starting OSD in verbose mode, the system will echo out each file it is loading and also display when it is done loading in the console window. If you give me more information, I can tell you if there are methods in OSD already available to accomplish what you require.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have to explore the trace function. I discovered the verbose/console info after posting this originally, but dismissed it as lacking detail of where things came from and how they were loaded. I'll look at it again, but it appeared that most of the files were loaded from some hard-coded scheme and not from a start-up file.

Hi there,
it would be quite useful to see where files actually get loaded from (the full path), especially if you are playing with customization stuff like CORP, SITE, USER and so on (setting variables like SDSITECUSTOMIZEDIR) It is often difficult to tell what files come from what place (except for "display-debugging") Any ideas ??? Hi Christian,
good feedback. Currently it is not possible to see from where Designer loads e.g. toolbars etc.. But since we are redesigning the whole area for OSDM 12.0 I'll take this into account that there should be an easy way to detect from where what customization files were loaded. Cheers, Markus |
