ME10 - MI to DWG Convertor

Hi there,

I have been asked to do conversion job for work. My employer wants old drawings converted however there is thousands and i am currently having to open them up one by one and saving as DWG which is taking forever when each folder has a large quantity of images.

Is there any chance of maybe getting some sort of conversion kit or some sort of other solution in order to get all the drawings converted.

Specifications
- ME10 10.0
-Windows 2000 pro SP 2

Thank you.

Regards,

Counter

The dxfdwg translator can be used outside of drafting via command line functions.
There is an option to convert via batch mode. Open a command prompt window in the install directory and type in dxfdwg. You will get further instructions.

You will need to create a text file with a list of all the files you wish to convert if you wish to batch convert.

In a DOS window that will have a command prompt, type in

dir /b | dir.txt

This will make a nice list of the files located in the directory, one file name per line. You may want to verify the file in the editor to remove the .. or any other strange filenames not needed.

Or, just for .mi files do this

dir *.mi /b | dir.txt

I would also mention the nice guide written by John Scheffel
http://www.cocreateusers.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4598&highlight=Add+Click+Translation+Files
(look at "right_click_xlate.mht")

After an almost quick windows explorer setup, you can convert files in a fast and easy way.

Gabriele
