Modeling - Installation that doesn't destroy toolbars.
I'm sure I'm not the only idiot that forgets to back up his toolbars for every other upgrade. It would be very nice if the install would AT LEAST make a backup so you can import them rather than having to rebuild the layout, and over a couple weeks add the keyboard shortcuts back in.

I was prompted to post this after installing the upgrade from 11.5 to 11.6b. I was very relieved to discover (at least after this upgrade) that all my toolbars were still intact. They'd just been turned off.

since some versions the name of the customize directory changed (talking about Windows only!)
sd_customize => sd_customize_9 => sd_customize_11 (as far as it is in my mind) when you install a new version using a another name for that dir all you customization seemed to be 'lost'. It helped me a lot to export my customization, copy all files from the 'old' dir to the 'new' one and then start again the new OSD. |
