3D points
We have an excel with coordinates of 3D points and there colour. Is it possible to import this table as 3D points (with different color)?

Re: 3D points
Yes, you can create 3D points from a table, but you have to write some lisp code to do this. However, as far as I know, you cannot set a color of a 3D point. It seems you are trying to visualize some data in 3D space. I think matlab or octave will be a better fit to accomplish this. Or you might be able to use Wolfram Alpha: http://reference.wolfram.com/language/ref/ListPointPlot3D.html

Re: 3D points
if it's also ok to use coordinate systems instead of 3d points, you can have the color, too.
Copy-paste the code below in a text file with extension .lsp, and drag that on the Modeling Viewport to see a demo. If you're good in excel, you can use the syntax to create a lisp file with the points, without further lisp knowledge :-) Code:
(create_part :name "p1") (pos_create_coordinate_system :action :create :display-ui :owner (sd-pathname-to-obj "/p1") :name "point1" :pt_dir :point (gpnt3d 100 50 75) :w_axis :z :u_axis :x) (change_coordinate_system_properties :coord_sys (sd-pathname-to-obj "/p1/point1") :color 3421438 :done :size 1) (pos_create_coordinate_system :action :create :display-ui :owner (sd-pathname-to-obj "/p1") :name "point2" :pt_dir :point (gpnt3d 10 20 30) :w_axis :z :u_axis :x) (change_coordinate_system_properties :coord_sys (sd-pathname-to-obj "/p1/point2") :color 0 :done :size 5) |
