project "Lightning", what is it, how will it affect CoCreate?

Any guesses on what project "Lightning" is all about? How will it affect CoCreate users?

Re: project "Lightning", what is it, how will it affect CoCreate?

Hi,

I *THINK* it's something like this: a software suite that enables projects to be working on the same assembly with either Pro/E or OSD, with just one database. So, an engineer working on sheet metal parts could be using OSD, and his collegue working on freeform plastic covers could be using Pro/E.
So, one PDM system, one assembly, and 2 CAD systems working together.
Regards,
Jaap

For those that don't have it, here is the link to the official Project Lightning webpage:

Hi Jaap,

They said it will not be a union between the two cad systems, so this is the only thing I can think of. I certainly hope so, because that would mean the complete application remains (and thus all macro's keep working).

Regards,

Marten
