Activation Problem

Hello all,

I have just downloaded and installed OSD PE. alas it seems unable to connect to the internet to activate. I have allowed it through my firewall but it still asks for proxy server settings. As I dont use a proxy server I don't know what to do.

I am running windows vista, which is listed as unsupported, but I dont see how that would cause this problem.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Activation Problem

For CoCreate OneSpace Modeling PE software support, like license activation... check out the CoCreate Software sponsored OneSpace Modeling PE Forum.

Re: Activation Problem

There are known issues with Windows Vista, which is why we don't support the PE version on Windows Vista yet.

Sorry,

Claus

Re: Activation Problem

While it is true that I am using Windows Vista, I don't think that Vista itself would cause this problem.

I am dual booting with XP, so I will try it in XP first before I post again.

Will there be any updates/fixes for Vista in the near future?

Re: Activation Problem

Didn't mean to say that there are issues with Windows Vista itself (although there probably are, as with any operating system), but that we already know of issues with the installation process under Vista, which is why we currently do not support PE under Vista.

The commercial version of CoCreate OneSpace Modeling will of course support Windows Vista (still working on this). For Modeling PE, our Vista plans have not been finalized yet.

Re: Activation Problem

My mistake!

Tried it under XP and it works fine, thanks for the help.

And yes, there are many many many issues with vista itself!

Security code in Windows Vista blocks all attempts by Modeling PE to request an activation code. (including attempts at manual activation)

Re: Activation Problem

Any idea when the Vista version will be released? My son is at Purdue and needs to use a CAD package for a class. I would be nice to load the PE edition on his Laptop (Vista)
