I don't know anything about running ME10 on the server version of Windows 2000, but I can give you some tips about Windows Services that may help. I don't know what will happen if you shut off the Terminal Server service, but it may cause problems.

Windows Services are similar to Unix daemons. They are background processes that usually startup automatically at boot time. Some will also start on demand when needed. A service process runs in the background and responds to service requests.

You can control services by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel. Then open Administrative Tools, then Services. You should see a list of services that are installed. If you right click on a service, you will get a menu that allows you to Start and Stop that service. You can also select Properties to set whether or not the service is started automatically at boot time (along with other options). You can change Startup type Manual so that it is not started automatically, or Disabled to turn off the service completely.

Stefano,

just curious: If I understand the exchange correctly, disabling the terminal server service fixes the problem for you? What exactly was the error message that you got?

Claus (who's a little puzzled why the terminal service should interfere with Drafting code)

hi Claus

I had problem installing ME10 with terminal services running, after standard installing procedure at the last step it said that it was resetting all things like before with no other error message.
After a lot of trying (we know terminal services are quite hard for many pakages) it wont run.
At least we disabled and unistalled these terminal services and all is running great now.
Others installing, loke SD and License server did it right from the beginning.

Stefano
