STEP import failure

When I try to import a STEP file, I get the following message:

Quote:
"The initialization of the STEP toolkit software failed.
Possible reasons are:
1) The STEP file might be based on an EXPRESS schema not supported by the application.
Check string entry in entity FILE_SCHEMA in STEP file header. Currently supported schemata are:
AUTOMOTIVE_DESIGN, AUTOMOTIVE_DESIGN_CC02,
CONFIG_CONTROL_DESIGN
2)There might be too many step_databases in your temp area"
The schema is fine. How do I check for too many STEP databases?

Re: STEP import failure

Look in your default temp directory. %temp%
Look for folders named step_database_xxxx (Where xxxx = some 4 digit number)

Delete them

Re: STEP import failure

Download and uncompress the attached file.
See if it will load. If it does, the problem is with the STEP file(s) you are trying to load.
Attached Files

Re: STEP import failure

That worked. I did some housecleaning on my computer yesterday, and the files that wouldn't load before will now load. I'm not sure what exactly was causing the problem, but it seems okay now. Thanks for the help.
