Test for pelook in startup.m

Is there any way to test for pelook in startup.m in Drafting rev 11.00b?

We have some users migrating to Windows UI from Classic UI and they would like to be able to switch back and forth without changing their startup.m file everytime.

This is needed because we have different company macros loaded in depending on the interface.

Thanks.

Question Windows?

Hi,
if you're running on windows, you can copy the shortcut you are using to start Drafting. At the end of this one, you can put -pelook 3, -pelook 2 or -pelook 1. That should work the same way than using it in the startup.

Drafting version 11.6 includes Michel's suggestion, the Start menu contains 3 buttons to start ME10 (Classic, Windows, and Mixed) so the users can easily choose which version they want to run.

You might also want to checkout the new "Mixed UI" in 11.6. It is a hybrid of the Windows and Classic UI, intended to provide the best of both UIs. You get the standard Windows menu bar, toolbars, file browsers, and other Windows only features, plus the classic two column menus on the right. At first I didn't know what to make of it, but it has grown on me. One tip for mixed mode. If you want the classic menu colors instead of the florescent yellow/green/orange buttons, change the following line in the startup.m file to OFF

Wui_ccc ON

I've developed a method of controlling the startup environment with short cuts in Windows. You can find out how to do this here: Selective startup /Darren
