ENCODING with old ME10

Hello guys.....

I have a problem.

we need to work with some people that use old version of Drafting 14...while I use versione 15.50.

Now...when they load the drawings I made they have problems with special characters..... (± ø Ø °) puts on a dimensions.

I see in 2007 version there is a DEFINE_ENCODING ...

How can I use DEFINE_ENCODING in old version?

There is a solution?

Thanks

Luca G.

Re: ENCODING with old ME10

When you store your files, do you back-save them to MI version 3.10?
If you store them to the correct version, the encoding is set for you.

Re: ENCODING with old ME10

OK...if I save in 3.10 format there's no problems....

my question was if I can resolve the thing from 3.10 to 3.20

the world go on.....not behind

I need to access with 14.00 in all archives created with 15.50c

Thanks for your time

Re: ENCODING with old ME10

Indeed, the world does go on. It is time to upgrade. CoCreate Drafting Version 17 is now the current version.
It is not possible to read new versions with old software without encountering problems.
This is true of all CAD software. In particular, one of the major changes between version 14.xx and 15.xx was the move to a Unicode character set. When you backsave, the text font is converted back to a non-Unicode version.

CoCreate is one of the few CAD systems that will allow you to store back to a previous version.

Re: ENCODING with old ME10

I have been doing my modeling/drafting in v15 Modeling/Anno for several months but most of the rest of my office is working in v14.5. So all my drawings need to be saved as v14. Other than the fact that i occasionally forget to save as old version, we have had no problems, regardless of whether someone else is working on my drawing, or if I'm working with one of my own drawings that has been back-saved
