Added .pkg and .bdl to Allowed Attach Types

I have added .pkg and .bdl to the list of allowed file types, but the size limit is currently 256KB so people can only attach simple models. We can discuss increasing the size limit if needed, but keep in mind that all attachments become part of the database, so if we allow attaching big files it can grow quickly. If it becomes too large we might have to go to a higher priced hosting package, and it could impact performance. So there are some trade-offs to consider.

Re: Added .pkg and .bdl to Allowed Attach Types

Hello John,

I tried attaching a 13 KB package file today, but it did not work. Any ideas why? I get

"Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" or

"Fatal error: Direct Instantiation of vB_Image_Abstract prohibited. in /includes/class_image.php on line 190"

Thank you,
Wayne

Re: Added .pkg and .bdl to Allowed Attach Types

Just tried this from here - worked fine, see http://cocreateusers.org/forum/showthread.php?p=17010#post17010, both for Firefox (first post) and IE6.

Re: Added .pkg and .bdl to Allowed Attach Types

Strange. I just did a test attachment of a bundle file and had no problems. I'm running IE 6.0 on Windows XP SP2. What are you using? Can you attach any other file type (JPEG, GIF, etc).

I did a search on the vbulletin web site and found some threads about these errors.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199877

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213267&page=10

The first one may be related to using IE 7.

The second seems to be related to something called Xcache which I don't know anything about. I will investigate.
