re: Pro/Engineer

Normally, YES. Sometime, NO. I have a lot of experiences works with both of the two modeling system. The major difference is depand on "What kind of your product design?". If your product is "series" than History Base much better. For example, A bolt, the sepcificate was controlled by 4 variable. So, you just change the dimension, you got the new result soon. If your product is "Always new develop(innovate)". i.e. Computer, Consumer, Communication industry etc. The product life cycle very short. And design change very often and Un-Predicable. In this situation, Dynamic Modeling much better. Dynamic Modeling is a new generation CAD technology. So, the marketing share is small. I think SolidDesigner is the only one. History Base was developed in 1980s. Pro/E is the leader. then ideas, SolidWorks, SolidEdge follow this method. So, many many peoples are using History Base. My company have the both two system. Most of engineers like to use SolidDesigner. I think, History Base system will disappear in my company someday.
