This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKjHUIMtwcs) shows a proof-of-concept of a possible integration between the LEAP motion controller (https://www.leapmotion.com/) and Modeling. This is not actually a product (at least not yet), but I thought I could post this video here anyway, just to see if any Modeling user would find this idea interesting and how/for what specific use or scenario...

I have not spent a lot of time and effort developing this integration yet, but my first impression is that the idea could be interesting and that it could be worth further investigation/development.

Any suggestion/idea/comment is welcome.

Thank you,
Fabrizio

This is a very helpful information. Did you manage to develop this integration in full?

Hello Bob,
sorry for my late reply. During the last few months I have been very busy working on another project, so I was not able to develop this integration any further.

But since my first tests with a LEAP-Modeling integration, I also have been experimenting with a standalone eDrawings viewer controlled by the LEAP. In fact, I think that the most probable use of a LEAP controlled 3D CAD would be for viewing purposes... And in this scenario, I think that the advantage of using a free 3D viewer would be paramount. And since Modeling and many other 3D CADs allow you to export models in the eDrawings format, I thought this option could be a better choiche...

But my first and fundamental question remains: is there any useful application for this? Does anyone see any real life use for such an integration?
