View Full Version : Dissappearing view and sensitive ok/x

Hello all,

View of part dissappears and must be reset by last view (or other command) whenever 'ok' is clicked or if cursor passes over part.

As well, 'x' beside the 'ok' is set off without clicking just by having the cursor go by too closely. Any settings to suggest?

Working on Vista home premium 64 bit.

Thanks

Weird stuff. Can you tell us more about the graphics configuration (HW, driver) of the affected system?

Hi ClausB,

Video is Mobile Intel(r) 965 Express chip set family in Gateway P-6872h laptop with 4 gig memory on mainboard (not sure how much dedicated to video).

Cursor is directed from touchpad, have not had any similar issues with other software.

Thanks

We have seen many issues with the mobile intel graphics. They do not fully support Open GL.

You can workaround this by configuring Modeling PE to not use graphics hardware acceleration. Here is a link to a site with information on how to set a system variable that will allow Modeling PE to bypass the hardware acceleration of your graphics card.

Thanks for advice, however, review of said page did not reveal to me workaround in settings to bypass software acceleration. Full review of edit-graphic settings does not seem to have provision for bypass. Review of driver settings on computer does not yield a listing of use of one space.

Searched for updated driver for chipset, not yet succesfull.

Disabling of ok/x does not eliminate dissapearance of part when cursor passes over it. Passing back over area after dissapearance alternatively lights up faces and edges of phantom part; re-centering, scaling or last-view buttons make part visible again.

Thanks.

To bypass (most of) the graphics driver's HW acceleration code, you need to set the environment variable SDPIXELFORMAT to a value of SOFTWARE. The procedure for Windows 2000/XP is described at http://www.clausbrod.de/OneSpaceModeling/OsdmFaqGraphics#BuggyDrivers .

Setting environment variables is slightly different in Vista. There are many places out there describing the process of setting environment variables in Vista, such as http://lifehacker.com/259018/create-your-own-environment-variables-for-quick-folder-navigation .

Thank you very much, updating my driver and introducing the environment variable sdpixelformat/software solved the problem.

Villen danken, merci de vos efforts.
