Hi all,

I am running OSDD v14 (2006) on an XP with 2Gb-RAM.
Lately, I have been experiencing a file fragmentation error,
which hangs my file up and I cannot save or exit.
I have to go into Task Manager and kill the process.

See Attached.

 AHHHH!!!

Especially frustrating when you are only 10 minutes into a file and have to redo all the steps that were taken.

I remember this happening when I was using the UNIX version back a few years ago, but I do not remember what the cause was.

I am curious to know if anyone has/had this problem,
and what the cause/cure was.

Yours in CAD,
Paul.

Well, the error message says "Segmentation violation", not "File fragmentation".

"Segmentation violation" can be thought of as a catch-all phrase which describes many, many different kinds of error situations. For background information, check out the FAQ entry at http://www.clausbrod.de/Osdm/OsdmFaqTroubleshooting#SegmentationViolation .

So without some more background on the circumstances of the error, there's no way for us to tell what happened, let alone recommend a workaround.
