I am curious to know if any is having troubles translating from .mi to .dxf in OSDD ver. 13.0.
I am able to translate using ver. 11.6, and have compared the dxf.con files and there appears to be no changes.
Still, when I try to open a file in AutoCAD 2005 that was coverted in v13.0, I get a Fatal Error message. When I open a file converted using v 11.6, it opens with no issues.
Thanks for the help.
Paul.

Hello Paul,
Are you using OSDD 13.00 or 13.20A, seems in 13.00 there was reported issue with converting MI > DWG that was fixed with 13.20A.
This issue was reported to be with OSDD 13.00 and HP-UX 11.11, but it could have effected the Windows platform as well, I do not have AutoCAD 2005 to test against.
Cheers

Hi Thom,
I am using ver.13.00 on a Windows XP Platform.
I guess I will have to request that I be updated to 13.2.
Thanks for the help.
Paul.

Hello Paul,
Send me your email address and I can send you a converted file for you to test in Acad 2005 from OSDD 13.20A if that helps.
Cheers
Thom

Hi Paul,
May be you can tell us the contents of the 'fatal error' message?
By Default the DXF translator is writing dxf version
> Default value is AC1015 (AutoCAD 2000/2002).
Is ACAD 2005 not able to read in files with that version?
May be you can give the translation a chance via command line?
dxfdwg -o -t AC1018 -f the-file.mi
-t specifies the DXF version , see dxfdwg/readme.htm#426 for more information.
May be you can run a 'diff' on the 2 different DXF files you have created? If you don't know what it is... forget about the question.
