Dear all,
can I mirror a feature ?
i mean, my part is having so many slots on it with same sizes. Hence, i want to use the mirror option. But I don't know why it is asking only parts to select while mirroring.

Thanks
Joseph

Hi Joseph,

The mirror 3d command works on parts and not on faces. Therefore you are not allowed to select single faces. In the help there is written:
"You can mirror parts about a plane (the "mirror plane"). "

But there exist other functions you could try:
Copy the faces of your feature into a new part. The result is a face part. This can be mirrored. Then paste the mirrored part again to the original part.

Hope this helps,
Dorothea

If you only need to punch or mill on a planar surface, you could also use the Modify 2D command. Project the original face onto a workplane. 2D delete the perimeter and mirror the remaining profile(s). Machine away!
