PCB/IDF module

My question is , why does everything I load from the PCB/IDF module comes locked. Even when I import a pcb board from Mentor Graphics to modify the parts come in locked. Why is this?
Anyone out there been using PCB/IDF?

This is because most of the PCB objects have additional attributes that carry logical ECAD related information.

For example, a PCB part carries special placement data (2D position on board, rotation, top or bottom side etc.) which is used by the ECAD system. The IDF Adapter PCB Move command not only moves the PCB part, it also updates its placement information.

If standard OSD Modeling positioning commands were used, PCB object data inconsistencies would occur when the PCB Assembly is Exported back to the ECAD system. Locking the PCB objects prevents their modification by the standard OSD Modeling commands.
