Does anyone out there know how to create a 3d spring or helix?

Have you tried Freeform, Add Material, Helix? With this you can sweep any 2D profile in a WP along a helical path.

on the "inofficial German Support Page" http://osd.cad.de there is a makro to create Springs availiable. Very good and convenient, but unfortanetly only in German.
