View Full Version : OSDM Assemblies with duplicate SysIDs

I have two OSDM assembly files which have the same System ID.

What is the most efficient way of resolving this problem so that each assembly has a different SysID and the 2D dwg associativity remains intact for each assembly? The 'load as copy' option creates new SysIDs for all the lower level parts - how can this be avoided?

I welcome suggestions ...

A 2D dwg can be associated with only one sys ID, so you have to pick which one of your 3D models you want it to be linked to.
If you don't want unique sys IDs for each part in the assemblies, then what you want is for the parts to be shared, but not the assemblies. You can get this by sharing the original assembly, then unsharing 'one level'. The only way I can see to create what you want is to go through this process. (I assume there is something different about your two assemblies, otherwise they should be shared.)

Hi Jim:

Many thanks for your comments. Yes, the two assemblies are different.

A CAD Admin colleague has also suggested a series of steps to resolve this problem. I'll try things out and post the outcome here in the near future ...
