Has anyone undertaken a project that goes through your database and creates PDF documents of all the drawings in the database?

I have a system in place that uses distiller server.
My approach takes the me10 / annotator 2d as it is moved to 'released' state and copies it into a network share. A nightly batch is run agains this share to create PDF and DXF's. The DXF is made from the dxfdwg script included w/ ME10. The PDF process is started by using MEPLOT to create a postscript file. The PS file is needed by distiller to create the PDF. The script also imports the DXF's and PDF's into the database using drawing_dxf and drawing_pdf classes.

We have made a similar solution with GosScript. It's different with distiller because this program translate ME10 drawing in PDF format in real time. You can consulte any PDF document from catalogue windows or WEB Access. If you want complete information, mail me

We have been using IMC's docserver for a few years now.
With a little customization one box has a vanilla install of ME10 and the docserver code. When a drawing is stored it is put in the queue to be converted. The docserver grabs all the elements and converts them to PDF and stores the PDFs back to the db. Within three minutes of a store, a PDF is available via the WAS. Thier website is: http://www.imc-sc.com
I'm sure they can provide a solution for you.

Steve,

Our company, CSI have a solution that automatically creates a PDF file when a user attempts to view either an ME10 or Annotation file through the TWA Web Access. There is a demo site set up on our website together with a brochure under the products section.
