Working in the latest versions of Solid Designer,ME10, and Work Manager on windows NT 4.0 What is the most appropriate method to handle model and drawing revisions in work manager? Do most people use the version field in the document to handle revisions? What if you have an alpha numeric revsion system? Work manager does not handle that well and the cusomization to do so seems complicated. Solid Designer load rules seem to be tightly connected to the version field suggesting that this field should be used for revisions with a numbering system. We added another field in the document area that is used for revisions. What is the rest of the world doing? Any insight would help.

We use Annotation instead of ME10 but that doesn't matter. In WorkManager when we are in the developement mode of a product we just keep the rev levels numeric, so when we want to make a new version while in development we just let WM put in what it wants, which is a number. So the highest number is the latest version. When we go to production we go to an alpha-numberic rev system, so we just type in the rev we want over what WM wants to put in. WM works off of dates so it doesn't matter what you put in the rev block.
