In the update layout command you can only select the entire layout or one view to be updated at a time. I the past (prior to Rev. 4) you could click on multiple views to be update at the same time. On large models and assemblies it can take up to one hour to update a view. As it is now you can no longer select the exact views you want to update and let SD run unattended. You have to keep checking SD to see if it is done so you can select your next view. The result is a loss of productivity.
