Raytracings of SolidDesigner parts

Does anyone know of a raytracing application that will take in a file format that SolidDesigner outputs, other than an STL file (like IGES or SAT), and runs on HPUX?

re: Raytracings of SolidDesigner parts

Dave,

try exporting your SolidDesigner model in VRML format. VRML data can be read by a lot of graphics-oriented applications. One possibility which comes to mind is POVray, which is an excellent free rendering program. (I think you need a VRML to POVray converter, though, which should also be available on the Web.)

Dave, VDS has a program called Solid Tools that is not to bad. Fairly easy to use and not bad results. The only problem is it is only for NT at this point. You would have to get an emulation software like Soft Windows or Intrege to run it on HPUX. You should contact David Hasegawa at VDS for more info.
