lips connection

Hi,
I need to draw this part (see attached screenshot)
Is it possible to have a better connection between lips than that with angular lips like this ??
Furthemore how do you manage to draw the 3 lips ? Shall i draw them one by one or are there maybe better way to do them in one command ?

Hi

there is a single answer two both questions.
Use the "New By Solid" command.
The attached picture shows the solid in red on which the sheet has been created.

Which parameters do you use with "new by solid" ?? I don't really understand the options...

Hi,

in the Sheet Metal module, choose Modify Sheet > Sheet Features > Modify and click on a face of the corner relief.
Now you can choose another type of relief.

About "new By Solid":
- make a block
- choose New By Solid
- click on Single Sheet
- click on the largest face
- click Connect
- Click on the edges between the largest face and it's neighbour faces
- if you've had them all, try the OK button!

weird... on the V.14 part, a number of corner reliefs work OK, but on the V.15 part I get error messages all the time??!!
I think it's normal that a number of corner reliefs don't work, because 3 bends meet on the corner. So, some reliefs are probably geometrically impossible. But I would expect that at least the behaviour would be the same with both parts...
To be honest, I'm not an expert on corner reliefs. And our Sheet Metal environment is highly customized, so this causes even more warnings.
If you search the help pages on "Graphical for tools and processes", you'll find a page with pictures of the different corner reliefs. This may help you a bit...

If not, are there some relief closer than this one (with only little gap) wich works ?

Hi,

I've just been playing with your model, and I'm even more certain that the V-shaped reliefs are more or less impossible when 3 bends meet, simply because it's a geometrical problem. I experimented with a new model, where I first made 2 bends, changed the corner relief to "Spline V", and added a 3rd lip after that. Then I minimized the gap with some Move 3D operations. See Corner1.jpg for my "best shot".
The "Min Round Corner Relief" and "No 2D Corner Relief" work nicely in your model; see the attached model. By the way, "No 2D Corner Relief" crashes Annotation when I create a Flat... probably because of our customized Sheet Metal??!!
