Hi there everybody

Here's my problem - I really wanted to try Cocreate Onespace modeller PE, but it keeps hanging on startup, the splashscreen will never disappear. Sometimes I can see the user interface and the viewport but it won't let me do anything.

I already tryed reinstalling the graphics drivers according to what's mentioned in this link: http://www.clausbrod.de/cgi-bin/view.pl/Osdm/OsdmFaqGraphics

I did the ultra-clean install but it won't do any good.

I'm trying to run the program on a laptop with an ATI Moblity Radeon x600

Any help on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Try running Modeling PE with the -v option on the command line. This will open a console window in which additional information is displayed which could help with debugging the problem.

The command-line option can be added by modifying the shortcut in the Start/Programs menu. Right-click the entry which you usually use to run Modeling PE, click "Properties". Go to the "Shortcut" tab and add " -v" (without the quotes) to the "Target" line.

Hope this helps,

Claus

Hi. I got a same problem on my PC and I attach the end of the log here.
Do you find any symptom which can be diagonized? I could not save more than this due to console window's buffer limit being not controlable.

Most likely, the graphics driver on your system has not been installed correctly. See http://www.clausbrod.de/OneSpaceModeling/OsdmFaqGraphics#ProperInstallation for hints on how to fix this.

Claus, I see the drawing area with the default green /w1 shown and its default background on screen, though.
And I suspect that I have ever updated driver because I have standard graphic chipset 845GE. This is a laptop.
How do you think?

Well, we never tested that chipset or its driver, so we cannot be sure that it works properly at all with 3D applications such as ours. You could try to bypass the driver, or at least the hardware acceleration.

Some drivers have explicit options for this in their control panels. If not, you can set the environment variable SDPIXELFORMAT to a value of SOFTWARE; this will cause OneSpace Modeling PE to use software rendering mode, which bypasses large parts of the 3D graphics driver.

Hope this helps,

Claus

Hi, Claus.
Thank you for your support. Unfortunately, I found my (one of ) laptop was not available for PE. Possible reason I reckon is that the laptop does not have its main monitor because I unintentionaly drove my car over it and the monitor had been removed. So PC monitor is the only option I have. I tested your resolution and I happend to have found that the software is reaching its very end but the graphics could not reach the end at the same state.
I need to get new PC for this, and I hope PE is still available by the time I can get my own new PC.

Thank you again.
Your suggestion worked out fine for me.

Hi.
I finally got a Evaluation DVD from CoCreate dealer. And now I installed and my machine works perfectly fine. Only personal edition got a problem. I guess it is inherent to PE. What else can I suspect?

Or am I eliminated running PE with this specific PC? :o

Please give help. :)

P.S. I would be extraordinary happy for just 29 days.:D

The PE version always starts the Annotation module. Some graphics driver installation issues only become apparent when activating Annotation. Did you already test Annotation in the eval version?

The annotation works fine.
There was no problem at all.

Hi Claus. I tried so many times so I did not try again. But just because you are still answering me, I tried once more. ... Worked!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I have to thank you very much.
It's beautiful.

Best Regards.
