see the attachment. Why can't I select the line?

I don't know if it's possible to do that. I think you can only make a parallel relation for two faces, not a face and a line, as the latter is not fully-constrained without an angle of some sort.

I don't think you can create relations with 2D elements in workplanes. As far as I know it only works with 3D elements. I think some of the relations will work with 3D edges, but I don't remember which ones. If this is not correct or someone has better info please reply.

But in CoCreate/OneSpace Designer - User's Task Guide

Working with Dynamic Relations (DR)

Once you have created your components, such as parts, workplanes or sub-assemblies, you can use the Dynamic Relations module to control their position and shape. You do this by specifying relations.

Relations are defined between reference elements. Reference elements can be either three-dimensional for example, planes, faces, edges or vertices, or two-dimensional, for example, lines, circles or points. You can define relations between parts in an assembly or between elements in a part.

Still, that doesn't mean that all Relations are possible for all entities. Perhaps a call to Support could clarify the Relation types for the various 3D/2D items?

Hi,

There exits a setting where you define, which kind of data should be selected by default. Usually this is set to faces. The selector therefore is configured to select faces. But you can change this. Open the select user interface. There you'll see that in the area 2D also 2d geometry can be activated. Just click on the button 'Geometry' and it gets activated. Now you can select the 2d line.
Other possibility is to change your default setting. In the Settings menu for relations there is the option 'Select Mode'. I expect it is set to 'Faces' in your version. Change to 'All' and you don't need to open the select ui when you want to select anything except faces.

Try it out what the best default is in your case.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, in the select user interface of my OSD Modeling, the area 2D is grayed and there isn't any button 'Geometry' .

Why?

Hi,

The settings in the selector user interface depend on the action you are performing. Your picture shows the running preselection. If you start the relation creation dialog then you'll notice a different user interface in the selector. This should be clear because every different dialog or action requires the user input of different elements, objects and parameters. And the selector reacts on the requirements of the dialog. It only allows selection of those elements and objects which are requested by the dialog.

I am not sure that I fully understand.
But I can constrain a line parallel to a plane of a part in Position Mode Relation now.

see the attachment.
