I am iusing ME10 v9.0 in which a while ago, I could no longer LOAD or STORE Compressed MI files and have had to revert to MI format that produces files 3x as large as compressed ones. When I try to STORE CompressedMI files the error message is:

*** Cannot rename 'C:\DOCUME~1\JOBST~1.BIG\LOCALS~1\Temp\'s3as.2' to 'CompMI' ***

When I try to LOAD CompressedMI files the error message is:

*** Internal error during load of 'C:\DWG\MVR\Gun'.

followed by:

*** SYSTEM ERROR: me_errno = -10

With the departure of our ME10 gardener, I have not been able to get help on this problem. Does anyone recognize what causes this problem? Other than that my ME10 works like a charm and stores and retrieves files in other formats.

Hello Jobst,

You might want to edit your post and remove the E-mail address. There are spambots which scan vbulletin forums such as this to harvest E-mail addresses. If anyone wants to E-mail you, they can click the email button under your post, which does not reveal you address. People can also use the pm button to send you a private message via the forum's message system.

Given the phrase "ME10 gardener", I assume you must be in HP since I you are not listed in Agilent's address book. I have never seen this problem, but I would think there are HP internal support resources you could access even though your gardener has left. You might try Marc Lee or Peter Kehoe to see if they can suggest someone.

You might also consider upgrading to a newer version. Drafting version 11 and up use gzip compression instead of the Unix type compress, which may work better.

You might also consider just using MI files. We use this as our standard store file type in Agilent to avoid all the potential issues with compressed MI files. Although the files might be 3X larger, the amount of disk space consumed by MI files is pretty insignificant by today's standards.

You might want to read this thread (http://www.cocreateusers.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4786) for more info.
