I'm having a hard time understanding this posting, especially from "hour pear tree" onwards... Andrea, if I translate "hour pear tree" back into Italian using babelfish.altavista.com, I get "albero di pera di ora" - is this what you wanted to say? If so, what does it mean 8-)
It sounds like you want to shut down a remote HP-UX workstation without having to enter a password?

The correct phrase would have to be: Hour that on the customer root I have inserted password the this command (remsh 10.20.1.124 - l "/usr/sbin/reboot -/h" ) does not work...
Excuse

Sorry, that still doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but maybe others can help you. Alternatively, you could post your question in Italian (I'm guessing that this is your primary language), and we could translate the question using Babelfish.

Ecco in italiano ...
Ho inserito all'utente root una password .
Ora usando il comando (remsh 10.20.1.124 - l root "/usr/sbin/reboot -/h" ) sotto un utente diverso da root non funziona piu !!!

Babelfish translates this as
Here in Italian... I have inserted to the customer root one password. Hour using commando (remsh 10.20.1.124 - l root "/usr/sbin/reboot -/h") under a various customer from root does not work piu!!!
Hmmm... not much different from the first posting 8-)
What exactly do you mean by a "customer root"?

OK, let's see what we have so far.
You want to reboot an HP-UX machine from a remote machine, and you want to do this via remsh.
Obviously, because you want to use the 'reboot' command, you must have superuser (root) privileges.
Apparently, you have done something to the password of the 'root' user either on your local or on the remote machine, but I don't know what you did.
And when you now try the remsh command, it doesn't work.
What exactly happens, and how does the command fail?
Claus
PS: I think the right option syntax for 'reboot' is to use '-h', not '-/h'.
