In Model Manager, is there a way to set the initial version of a part or drawing to something other than "1".
For example, I want to start my Model Manager database with just the latest revision of my parts and drawings (leaving the old revisions archived in an old database). I would prefer for the version to match the current revision level instead of starting at "1". Then the version would continue match drawing/model revision as changes were made.
Thanks in advance for any input.
(I'm using OSD v11.60 & MM v11.61 on W2K)

Here is the response from CoCreate Support:
"Model Manager is designed to be used out-of-the-box
with a focused scope and use-model (simple versioning,
simple query, etc.). Some options (such as labels and
attribute visibility & protection) are easily configurable
via an XML file, but changes to the version like what you
have described are not. That does not mean it cannot
be done, just that it's a little more complicated (java
programming and may require consulting. I know that
the CoCreate consulting organization has already been
contracted to make similar customizations for other
customers. However, many customers make do by
using the change notes."

In the September release of Designer Modeling v12, the integrated add-on Model Manager has an out-of-box major and minor revision scheme - In v11.xx there was only a version number.
The highlights for v12 in this area are:
1. Major and minor revisioning (no customization needed)
2. Suggested increments for easy of use
3. Overwrite the suggested and use your own value (freeform the revision or leapfrog when necessary)
4. Initial revision for a new items can be customized: the options are a dash (-) or an alpha or numeric character of your choice. [01] is the default numeric and [A] is the default alpha. Options are listed in the XML file.

Thanks David.
That was one of my major concerns with implementing legacy data into the software. Sound like it is taken care of.
