Change Owner (Done in version 7.2 or earlier)

It would be a benefit to be able to change the owner of a symbol, text or manual geometry. This would save having to do work over again because the detailer forgot to change the owner.

There is a move command that allows this. The ones that are part of the various Modify menus do not allow this. The Move Elements command (I'm sure there's a better name :)) allows reassigning owners. There is even an option for changing the owner but keeping the same position of the item. You can move anything except views with this command. You will need to drag the command from the customization menu to a toolbar (we had our startup files customized so we have it by default).

I can get this to work for everything except symbols.

If the symbols you are talking about are GD&T, it works just the same as moving text.
You can leave it in the same position and change owner, or you can move it, change sheets, etc..
