The company I work for just purchased a company who uses ME30. The have a lot of 3D models I need to use in 3D Studio Max. I also have acad13 and mechanical desktop. They tried an iges file but I could not get it into either one as a solid. It came is as lines and polylines. Can anyone give me some advice before I start rebuilding the parts from scratch.

ME30 IGES output only consists of edges and/or faces from the model. THere is no topology information in ME30 IGES output. Unless 3D Studio can convert an IGES surface file into a solid, you're out of luck. You could purchase a copy of SolidDesigner which will read ME30 solid models. SolidDesigner will output STL, SAT, STEP and IGES 3D.
