View Full Version : 'shifted' parts on reload

we're having problems with 'shifting' parts within a package file, when saved by one user and loaded again by another user or the originator, being shifted or exploded away from eachother. We've never seen this in other packages using 6.0. We seem to recall having problems back in 4.0/4.5 with instance filing changes causing trouble with our packages getting shifted, but we can't remember the root cause. Can anyone else document cases of parts being moved within packages between save and reload? (we have evidence of the time/date stamp that the file has not been modified by another user). Does anyone have an explanation?

Chris,
one potential reason I could think of is that you have set up dynamic relations between parts, but did not save all of them into the package file. I'm only speculating here, though, because I never really worked a lot with with relations.

Create a directory for your project. Now use save 3D data and select all at top. This will save all of your parts and keep their relation ship to each other, plus you can now just pull up one part at a time or all of it. This is also great when two or more people are work on the same assy at the same time.

Part ownership in the SD session must be consistent. If the part is assigned to or removed from an assebly structure in SD, the location information changes.
