I have a complex part which has an area created by freeform. During a recent change at another site, the part was corrupted and then returned to the server. It now has 3 degenerate surfaces all relating to the one face. I have tried milling and extruding the faces, but this then causes other areas to be highlightes as corrupt. I'm using SD v5.1 on an C110. Has anyone seen this sort of thing before? Thanx Martin.

At the 98 users conference Berney Coleman gave a presentation on finding and repairing corrupt and non-manufacturable parts. It was based on SD v6.0 but some of the methods should work with v5.1 as well. He offered to send a a .PDF version of his presentation to those with interest (I have a copy), and I have sent one to Marin. BUT since I have not asked for permission to distribute his file, I have not attached it here. (if I could post an attachment or not I am not sure) If there are others interested I will contact Berney to see if I can get permission to distribute the presentation, or you could contact him on your own. The last suggestion I have is to UPGRADE TO SD v6.0, as there have been vast improvements that would make it harder to create corrupt parts and if you do there are more tools available to help fix them. I have checked with Berney Coleman about making his presentation available. Here is his relpy:
Thanks for you message. I would prefer that you have anyone who wants a copy of my presentation to contact me directly. That way I can send them the latest update (if any) and I may be able to have someone help them directly. So just refer them to me.
Berney
Here is his E-mail address:
berney_coleman@hp.com
