Hi,
there are several potential reasons for problems like this:

Bugs in the graphics driver
Inconsistencies in the model
Bugs in SolidDesigner graphics code
Since the problem can be hardware- and model-dependent, I'd need some more information about your configuration and the model you are trying to load. Also, which version of SolidDesigner are you using?
Claus

And if you OVER-refine your model this can sometimes cause problems that freeze the viewport.

I had that problem too. (on HP C100 w/356 mb /visualize graphics card) Yes, with large assemblies..and or with little ram left, I get a frozen viewport. By checking the frozen checkbox in the viewport menu on then redraw then unchecking the frozen checkbox, the viewport eventually goes back to normal.

Dear all Thanks for reply. System spec: (C160/256Mbyte/hpux10.20(CDE)/SD5.1 /Visualize24Z) When I loading the large ass'y about 10Mbyte and more 500 parts. Sometimes it was displayed. So, I try reboot the system afterthat I can loading it. if you need more information, please let me know...thanks.

This can happen in the cases I described in my previous reply, or it could also happen after running out of memory during model redraw. In this case, however, you will also get a separate "out of memory" message.
Frozen viewport errors can be dependent on the view direction and the display mode (shaded, shaded+edged...), especially when the underlying problem is in the graphics library. This might be reason why you sometimes see the error, and sometimes you don't.
Here are two ideas:
Make sure that all recommended patches for HP-UX 10.20 are installed. (Check with your support contact person to get a current list.)
Are there anyout layouts in your model file? If so, make sure that they are up to date, or delete any layout details except for the view definitions.
Claus
