Dear all, If my company has 20Gbyte HDD with D-class server, and we make the 20ea 2d/3d drawings(include the large assy's) a week by c-class workstation. Normaly, SD layout filesize has bigger (3or5) than 3D file. So if 3D file has 10Mbyte and has suppose to 30Mbyte 2d layout file, we will produce more 600Mbyte 2/3D files a week. I think that it is serious problems for our server. Finally, I want know that how to reduce the layout file size. Thank you.

Jaedo..as long as no one is retrieving all of these files at the same time, the sever should not see any timimg out. Hard Drives run about .035 cents per meg, just buy more hard drives! At 600/meg/wk that costs out to about $21.00 wk. Pretty cheap. Another way is to use annotation and not me-10. Using annotation produces .pkg files half the size of using .pkg files with me-10. The .me files created with annotation are the same as me-10. Pete
