I am looking at purchasing the Logitech Magellan 3D Controller, also known as the Space Control Space Mouse, for use with SolidDesigner running on Unix (currently running v5.11A, awaiting upgrade to v6.00). I have not yet come across anyone using the Space Mouse with SolidDesigner here in the UK, so I was wondering if there were any users Worldwide who have had experience, or are using this device with SD v5.11 or v6.00. I'll be interested in any feedback/info that you might have! If you are wondering what the Space Mouse is, pull up the web page on www.spacemouse.com.

The SpaceMouse is a very nice device for use with SolidDesigner 6.0 onwards. With SD 6.0, SpaceMouse and Spaceball are supported as permanent dynamic viewing devices. That means that you can change your view at any time without invoking a command or pressing an additional key before. Just twist the SpaceMouse cap a bit and your view changes accordingly. In addition to that the Magellan driver interface has a whole bunch of functionality to customize the SpaceMouse. You can even program the SpaceMouse buttons to execute SolidDesigner commands - very nice as I said already.
