Is it necessary to have PowerShade software installed to run SolidDesigner-UX 5.1 on a C100 running UX 9.07?

Yes, Maybe you need to powersh_2.04.updt.Z file. but normaly if you install the powershade, system performance little bit solw. Try to search the HP support web site. you can find it. Thank you.

Marc,
PowerShade is necessary for graphics boards which do not accelerate 3D graphics. So to answer your question, we'd need to know what graphics board you are using.
Installing PowerShade on a 3D graphics board doesn't hurt, though - it simply won't be used there. The PowerShade package is available for free at HP's web site.
Hope this helps,
 Claus
