Can anybody tell me why some laserjets (4V) for example generate black backgrounds when printing on A3 and background is off. This not only occurs with HR_Dumps bu normal Dumps as well.

Wim,
if I remember correctly, this is a bug in the pcltrans which comes with the OS and is used in the printing process. You could try to disable the "FIT" option or to print PostScript data.
Claus

For a dump, set the backgroundcolor to white. Maybe it is not the way to do so but it works. Ad

I think Claus is right, it's a bug in pcltrans. For some reason pcltrans generates the image in inverted color. There should also be a 'pcl-bw' conversion available in your outconversion list, which adds an extra postprocess step to inverte the color before sending it to pcltrans. (At least the one provided by CoCreate contains it.) If you are using 7.0 or newer you only have to add the available conversion to the UI-selection list by entering (hr-dump:extend-outconversion-list "pcl-bw") and to reconfigure your printer to use this outconversion.
