When I load any PARTS/ASSY from SD 4.52 and try to modify colors it accepts the new properties of the color but graphically there's no change. Is this a graphic problem or software bug? Any new parts generated in SD 5.11A will not have this problem. Anyone has any Ideas or Has this same problem.

Dan: I have had the same problem, but decided that it wasn't worth worrying about until 6.0 which I will have loaded within a week. I have found that it is more of a nusance than a real problem. Sorry, no ideas at this time.

Daniel,<p> you were probably trying to modify a "base color" rather than the "part color". Base colors are a recent feature in SolidDesigner, and they are useful in the context of part sharing.<p> If you open the Part Settings/Seleted menu, you will notice that you can set colors in three different areas of the menu: <dl> <dt>"Color" in "Base Properties" area <dd>This sets the <em>base color</em> for a part (see below). <dt>"Color" in "Part Properties" area <dd>This sets the <em>part color</em> (or instance color) for a part. <dt>Face Color area <dd>This allows to assign colors to individual faces. </dl> The <em>base color</em> is the same for all shared copies of a part, i.e. if you change a part's base color, all shared copies will change their color. The <em>part color</em>, however, is attached to an individual instance of a part.<p> Part colors have higher priority than base colors, so if you have defined a part color for a specific instance, changing the base color for it will not have any visible effect. This is probably what happened in your case.<p> Hope this helps,<p> Claus
