I would like to know if CoCreate has approved the use of the Matrox Millenium II graphics board for Solid Designer. I am hoping to run Solid Designer on a Dell computer (300 MHz, 128Meg, 6 Gig and Matrox Millenium II - 8 Meg) has anybody tried this and how fast is it?

I have sucessfully ran SolidDesigner NT version 4.52 on a Dell XPS Pro200 with 128mb ram using the Matrox Millenium 8MB Version. According to Steve Montambault from CoCreate the only low price graphic board supported is the Matrox. This configuration ran about the speed of a 715/100 with the 24Z card Unix Workstation. I would highly recommend upgrading to 16mb and there is a specific setup within exceed to optimize your graphics. Call me at (860)843-2431 if you want more info!

We have just started to support this card. CoCreate has tested the Matrox Millenium II board for use with SolidDesigner 5.1 (NT version). The 8 and 16 MB versions of this board are now officially supported for SolidDesigner 5.1. The Matrox Millenium II is a popular board and offers acceptable performance at a very attractive price. It is not recommended for large assembly modeling/viewing.
