i am interested in writing macros for use in me10, are there reference books avaiable? is C programming the base language for macros? my problem specifically is when i "trace" commands in me10 i cannot interpret the text and strings to find out what to keep and what to delete to get the desired effect from the new macro. thanks

The basis for writing ME10 macros is the "SYNTAX" manual if it is still available. If not, print out the help list. This can viewed by typing in help and then pressing anything you have a question about. You will then view the syntax of that command. Please check out the "Macro Site" that can be accessed from this web site. You will find many users written macros and looking at them and understanding the syntax is the best way to learn to write macros. Good Luck!

Try the echo command. It will produce a file that can be run with a little editing.
